Behind the Watercolors
Marge Clay
Painting has been a lifelong passion for Marge and has remained a constant source of creativity and joy throughout every stage of her life. After retiring from her career as an elementary school principal, she was finally able to devote even more time and energy to creating art full-time.
While watercolor portraiture became one of her greatest passions, her love for creativity extends far beyond painting alone. Marge also enjoys working with fused glass, acrylic painting, mosaics, and many other artistic projects that allow her to continue exploring and expressing her creativity in new ways.
She believes art should feel personal, meaningful, and filled with heart.
Family, travel, and human connection play a large role in inspiring Marge’s work. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she understands how important meaningful memories and special moments can become over time. She especially loves creating portraits because they allow her to capture memories in a way that can be treasured for years to come.
Traveling has also become a major source of inspiration for her, as she loves experiencing new places, cultures, colors, and scenery that continue to influence her artistic perspective.
Above all, Marge hopes her artwork brings comfort, happiness, and a sense of personal connection to everyone who welcomes one of her paintings into their home.
